The inspiration for this design comes from the architectural and landscape design set for the construction of imperial cities under the Zhou Dynasty, as documented in the "Rites of Zhou". This ancient text has been used as a blueprint to create a residence that is not only located in a key commercial economic area but also enjoys the elegant scenery of the Beilonghu lake area. The residence is adjacent to the Central Business District International Finance Center in the North, the Central Business District in the South, and the Ruyiyunhe river in the West.
The unique properties of this design lie in its lighting. The square and rectangular grid lines from the "Rites of Zhou" have been merged into the architectural and landscape design of this high-end residence. The lighting design naturally reveals these details, creating a dance between light and shadow that divulges the elegance of Chinese architecture. The facade lighting uses hidden 3000K LED linear lights to highlight not only the texture inside the coves of the bronze metal roof but also to display the grid lines of the "Rites of Zhou" visible at night.
Realizing this design required a multilateral communication to ensure that the lighting design would match the new contemporary Chinese architectural design. The original architectural design would have exposed the lighting fixtures. After discussing with the architect, the roof design was altered to hide the lighting fixture and at the same time highlight the details of the newly created cove.
The lighting design part of the project started in April 2018 in Zhengzhou, China, and the demonstration area opened in February 2019. The lighting fixtures recommended to the customer included detailed information such as beam angles, wattage, and color temperature, installation details. This residence is located in one of Zhengzhou commercial economic area next to the scenic Beilonghu lake adjacent to the Ruyiyunhe in the West, the Central Business District in the South and the Central Business District International Finance Center in North.
